Newk’s Eatery is exploring growth in the Valley through franchise development, with plans that could bring up to 20 locations to the market over the coming years, according to Phoenix Business Journal.
No franchise agreements, site addresses or opening timelines have been announced so far.
Founded in Oxford, Mississippi in 2004, Newk’s launched franchising the following year and has since grown into a restaurant chain with more than 100 locations nationwide.
The company is now looking west, identifying Phoenix as one of its next major growth markets. Leadership envisions building the market through several franchise groups managing their own territories rather than relying on a single operator.
The brand’s menu centers around sandwiches, wraps, salads, soups and pizza, alongside mac and cheese, desserts and beverages.
Signature offerings include deli-style and toasted sandwiches, entrée salads, creamy soups and hand-tossed pizzas, reflecting the family-recipe influences that have shaped the brand since its Mississippi roots.
Newer Newk’s restaurants typically occupy retail and shopping center spaces ranging from roughly 2,800 to 3,500 square feet and may include features such as drive-thrus or pick-up windows.
What Now Phoenix reached out regarding Newk’s Valley expansion plans and will share additional details as they become available.
