Wonder is scaling quickly. The brand recently announced an opening at the Grand Parkway Marketplace II retail center. Now the Wonder team is embarking on opening another Houston entertainment eatery. According to a recently filed permit, Wonder is expected to open in the Crossing at Midtown at 606 Dennis St.
“Craving barbecue, but they’re in the mood for tacos? Don’t compromise,” the Wonder website reads about its ability to allow its guests to mix and match restaurants as much as they’d like to.
“Combine multiple cuisines at once, they’ll be made to order and delivered together.”
The permit further details that construction on the new Crossing at Midtown Wonder Food Hall is slated to start in August and wrap up at the end of October. If all goes well with the estimated $1 million project and permitting, the new Wonder should be open by this winter.
“There’s an option for anything you’re craving, from Greek to Thai, with menus from world-famous chefs like Bobby Flay & Marcus Samuelsson,” the Wonder website reads.
“Dine-in or pickup at any of our locations throughout the Northeast, or get your order delivered in minutes. At Wonder, delivery is free.”
The New York-based company also outlined plans to open yet another Greater Houston location! The third space will be at 107 Yale Street in the Washington Avenue corridor near the Heights, according to a recent permit.
Wonder was founded by entrepreneur Marc Lore in 2018. What Now Houston reached out to Lore, but did not hear back by the time of this publication.
Initially launching with high-end mobile kitchens driving to suburban neighborhoods, Wonder has since evolved into a rapidly expanding chain of brick-and-mortar food halls serving meals from multiple renowned chefs.
“We’re on a mission to make great food more accessible,” the Wonder website reads.
“We started Wonder with the belief that a remarkable dining experience should be readily available to anyone who wants one.”
What Now spoke with Culture Speed Founder & CEO Adam Schiff about the expansion. We also reached out to Store Development & Retail Expansion Professional, Abdiel Gonzalez, who was also listed on the permit. But we did not hear back by the time of this publication.
There are now nearly 120 Wonder Food Hall locations operating throughout the country. The three coming to the Greater Houston region will be part of a huge Texas debut, and we suspect more announcements about openings in the near future. So stay alert and keep it locked here for the latest.
Wonder is anticipated to open in the Crossing at Midtown at 606 Dennis St by this winter.
