This summer, a new Italian restaurant is bringing “Wood-fired pizza, handmade pasta, fresh seafood, wine, & craft cocktails” to Zephyrhills. Trattoria Napoli will open at 5470 Seventh St. next month.

“It’s going to be a neighborhood Trattoria with fresh pasta and pizza,” owner Matthew Zappoli told What Now on Tuesday. “There will be a lot of New York Italian favorites.”

Zappoli brings 30 years of culinary experience to the table. Born in Brooklyn and a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, the chef has worked in cities like New York, Las Vegas, and San Diego, building a repertoire that ranges from fine dining to casual. The menu shows it: you’ll find a selection inspired by everything from haute cuisine to family recipes like Millie’s Meatballs, named for Zappoli’s grandmother and served as an appetizer or as an entrée with spaghetti.

“We’re in the middle of redesigning the space with 128 seats, including an outdoor patio, a main dining room, a bar, and a semi-private pizza room. We’re going for a cozy, warm, inviting space.”

There will also be a Wood Stone Pizza oven, cooking up pizza pies made from Zappoli’s own starter.
