What Now has reported on a number of restaurant openings from Next Level Brands over the years. In March 2023, it was Union New American. Then, there was coverage of the long-awaited second Forbici Modern Italian restaurant at the Sundial, along with the planned Sundial courtyard bar Drift Bar.
Now, Next Level Brands is at work on another new concept—this time, an “elevated coastal Mexican that will be located just off the Riverwalk in Downtown Tampa,” says coverage by the That’s So Tampa.
Called Matilde, it’s opening at the Arts and Entertainment Residences, at 300 W Tyler St. There, Matilde will join other tenants like JetSet Pilates and Bagel Nook.
“We’re excited to begin introducing Matilde as it takes shape, gradually sharing more of the vision as it continues to unfold,” said Jeff Gigante, Founder of Next Level Brands. “Matilde will build on our commitment to shaping Tampa Bay’s evolving culinary landscape, introducing original concepts that push creative boundaries while remaining rooted in hospitality.”
Matilde is expected to open in Spring 2027.
