A Southeast Michigan family is installing the coffee roasters for their new cafe coming to the suburb.

Shaded Bloom Coffee Roasters will soon roast their drinks at a new cafe, coming to 257 W Clarkston Road in Lake Orion. The owners, Erica and Derrick Kratt, are working with the team at Lake Orion Sports Center to get the project open, and this business is currently at the address. The two have not yet announced an official date, but it is expected to debut in the next couple months.

“We are super excited to be working with the new owners of @lake_orion_sportscenter to turn this space into a full, sit down coffee shop. We will take you along for the ride while we renovate it— and we cannot wait to serve you again!” Says the recent post from Shaded Bloom Coffee on Instagram.

Erica and Derrick’s business is currently a SCA certified wholesale roaster, selling their own roasts, as well as coffee syrups. A couple of their single origin options include Columbia Tolima organic with vanilla, brown sugar and cherry, and their Guatemala Huehuetenango organic with caramel, almond and apricot. They are working on the official drink menu for the cafe now.

The new coffee spot is coming to the south side of Clarkston Road, close to the S Lapeer Road intersection. This is on the same side of the street as High Caliber Strength & Fitness Lake Orion. Erica and Derrick’s shop before this was in Clarkston.

What Now Detroit has reached out to the owners and is awaiting comment.
