Zaxby’s could be headed to 5175 Murfreesboro Road in La Vergne, where plans call for a new-build restaurant on a 0.74-acre parcel in the city’s Downtown District.
Plans for the proposed restaurant appeared as new business on the La Vergne Planning Commission agenda on May 26, 2026, where consideration of the item was deferred to a future meeting. The property is owned by Guernsey Holdings, a multi-unit Zaxby’s franchise operator with 43 locations across Tennessee, South Carolina, Mississippi, and Georgia.
According to the Zaxby’s website, the company was founded in Statesboro, Georgia, in 1990 and has grown into one of the Southeast’s largest quick-service restaurant brands. The chain is known for its Chicken Fingerz, wings, chicken sandwiches, Zalads, and signature Zax Sauce. Guests can also find menu items such as loaded fries, Texas toast, appetizers, and a variety of chicken-based meals.
According to the Guernsey Holdings website, the Florence, South Carolina-based company owns and operates consumer-facing restaurant brands throughout the Southeast. The firm has built a substantial Zaxby’s portfolio, with locations spanning four states.
Additional details regarding the proposed La Vergne restaurant, including a construction timeline and anticipated opening date, have not yet been announced.
WhatNow Nashville reached out to representatives for Zaxby’s and Guernsey Holdings regarding the proposed project but did not receive a reply by the time of publication. WhatNow Nashville will provide updates as more information becomes available.
