Denver cheese lovers have reason to smile, as The Truffle Cheese Shop is making a comeback under new local ownership after closing its longtime 6th Avenue location in 2025.
Earlier this month, Denver-based DHP Holdings acquired a majority stake, marking a new chapter for the business, which has served the Denver community for more than two decades. The Truffle Cheese Shop will be at 2906 E 6th Ave. The acquisition keeps the company entirely Colorado-based, with local ownership, local investment, and a renewed focus on supporting Colorado food producers and artisan brands.
David Walsh, managing partner at DHP Holdings, said as hard as the 12 months have been, he always believed there was a future for this business. “The Truffle has been part of Denver’s food culture for decades, and we felt strongly that a locally owned Colorado business deserved the opportunity to evolve and continue.”
Walsh added that the company is now actively evaluating retail locations with the goal of reopening a storefront in Fall 2026. He said until then, The Truffle plans to expand several parts of its business that continued operating during the transition period. This includes, cheese-making classes, curated platter delivery, catering and gifting and upcoming wine-and-cheese pairing events.
“While our focus will always be cheese and all that it can be globally, there are incredible local producers here, and we want to help showcase them,” he said.
