A rapidly growing Cincinnati-area coffee company is preparing to build its first standalone headquarters in Mason.
According to reporting by the Cincinnati Business First, Rooted Grounds Coffee Co. plans to relocate to a new one-story, approximately 60,000-square-foot facility on an eight-acre site off Central Parke Boulevard.
The property, located at 7288 Central Parke Blvd, Mason, OH 45040, sits across Mason Montgomery Road from the new Dorothy Lane Market and about half a mile south of Western Row Road.
Founded in 2015 by Patsy and David Knopf, Rooted Grounds has grown into a national coffee supplier, roasting small-batch coffee for hotels, restaurants, universities, retail stores, offices, and other businesses across at least 32 states.
The planned headquarters will include office space, warehousing, and storage for coffee beans roasted on-site. Company leaders have also discussed the possibility of adding a tasting centre where customers can learn more about the roasting process and sample products.
Mason City Council recently approved a rezoning request for the site, allowing the project to move forward. The property was previously zoned for high-tech light industrial uses, which did not permit warehousing or commercial activities such as a tasting centre.
Rooted Grounds currently operates from the Made Hub on Reading Road in Mason after previously being based in West Chester Township. The company was among the first anchor tenants at the manufacturing-focused innovation hub when it opened in 2023.
Its coffee products are sold through retailers including Dorothy Lane Market, Jungle Jim’s International Market, United Dairy Farmers, and Amazon. The company also supplies coffee to businesses and institutions such as Procter & Gamble, GE Aerospace, the University of Cincinnati, UC Health, Miami University, the University of Dayton, TriHealth, and Premier Health.
City officials and local development leaders voiced support for the headquarters project during the rezoning process, citing the company’s growth and commitment to the community.
The new headquarters will be built on land that was once planned for the Fountains of Mason office development. Rooted Grounds has already acquired the property, though sale records have not yet been made public.
An opening timeline for the new headquarters has not yet been announced.
