Trulieve, one of the largest medical cannabis operators in the United States, may be preparing to open its first Dallas location, according to public filings. The multistate operator plans to open a dispensary at 8620 Spring Valley Road, where a build-out of an existing 1,324-square-foot space is underway.
What Now Dallas reached out to Trulieve representatives to learn about an opening timeline, but did not receive an answer before this publication. Work on the site may include demolition, new walls, ceilings, finishes, and mechanical and electrical improvements, with a targeted completion date of early September 2026.
The Dallas filing comes as Trulieve moves to establish itself in Texas following a major regulatory milestone. In December 2025, the Texas Department of Public Safety granted Trulieve TX, Inc. conditional approval for a Dispensing Organization license under the Texas Compassionate Use Program — the state’s medical cannabis framework, which allows licensed organizations to cultivate, manufacture, and distribute low-THC cannabis products to qualifying patients, according to Cannabis Business Times.
“We are excited to be selected for a coveted Texas Dispensing Organization license,” Trulieve CEO Kim Rivers said in a statement published on the company’s investor portal.
Trulieve currently operates dispensaries in Arizona, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia, and reported over $1.2 billion in revenue in 2025, according to New Cannabis Ventures.
