Haven Hot Chicken is preparing to open a new restaurant at 706 Ninth Street in Durham. Franchise owner John Enterline of The Enterline Group confirmed to WhatNow Charlotte that the team is targeting a fall opening.
According to Midtown Magazine’s recent Instagram post, the Durham restaurant is being developed by brothers John and Tim Enterline, who have spent years operating Jersey Mike’s franchises through The Enterline Group. After discovering Haven Hot Chicken through fellow franchisees, the brothers decided the Triangle was the right fit for the Connecticut-born concept as demand for Nashville-style hot chicken continues to grow.
According to Haven Hot Chicken’s website, the Connecticut-based brand specializes in hand-breaded hot chicken served with customizable heat levels. The menu includes sandwiches, tenders, wings, salads, and sides, allowing guests to choose their preferred level of spice.
Among the restaurant’s most popular offerings is THE Sandwich, a crispy chicken sandwich that earned the Grand Champion title on Food Network’s Best Bite in Town. In addition to its signature chicken dishes, the menu includes house-made sauces, mac and cheese, seasoned fries, coleslaw and milkshakes.
According to Midtown Magazine, the Durham restaurant will also showcase a custom mural inspired by the Bull City. The artwork is being created by Haven Hot Chicken’s longtime artist Amanda “Peep” Bivins and is intended to give the location a design unique to the Durham community.
The Enterline brothers’ latest venture expands their restaurant portfolio while introducing another fast-casual dining option to Durham’s Ninth Street district. With a fall opening in the works, guests can expect Haven Hot Chicken to bring its award-winning menu and locally inspired design to one of the city’s busiest commercial corridors.
