An authentic Chinese dining destination in Flint, Michigan, Lotus Room Chinese Cuisine, is preparing for its final goodbye. The restaurant will serve its last dinner this weekend, after 19 wonderful years of service.
Lotus Room Chinese Cuisine Says Goodbye
The Chinese restaurant is well-known for its scratch-made traditional Asian flavors and authentic Chinese cuisine. Lotus Room Chinese Cuisine is a local favorite for its cooked fresh-to-order service and high-quality ingredients.
Located at 6004 Torrey Road H in Flint, Michigan, the restaurant announced its permanent closure on Facebook. After nearly two decades of service, the restaurant will host its last day of service on October 10.
Owner Jack Yang announced that he will close the restaurant and step away from the business. Reflecting on its journey, the owner wrote, “When I first opened, I never imagined the friendships, the laughter, and the memories we’d share together.”
In the post, the owner thanked the staff, customers, and community members for their support over the years. “There’s sadness in saying goodbye, but gratitude for everything we’ve shared. I’m turning the page, but I will never forget all of you,” noted the owner.
The owner did not share any official reason for the closure. However, according to the closure announcement, a new Vietnamese restaurant concept, “PHO,” will occupy the space soon.
Lotus Room’s History in Flint
The restaurant, opened by Jack Yang, offers a cozy and relaxed dining experience. The MLive report stated that Jack is backed by years of culinary experience and has previously worked as a chef at his father’s restaurant, Empress of China, on Dort Highway in Flint.
The closure announcement drew comments from customers on Facebook.
In a recent Facebook post, the owner shared, “I feel truly blessed and proud of my business. I will try to keep my promise on the date, but I am having a hard time keeping up with the demand.”
The restaurant is facing a shortage of food due to the rise in demand and might have to close earlier than expected. The restaurant’s announced final day is October 10, although Yang said it could close earlier if supplies run out.
