The Metro Detroit-based laundromat company is continuing expansion.
Keystone Commercial Real Estate recently listed a new Skylar Laundromat location coming to 32373 Van Dyke Avenue. This is part of The Shoppes at Beaver Creek, a retail center in front of Menards. Owner Karen Abro told What Now Detroit the team does not have a firm opening date for the locations, but it will be “a while.”
Skylar Laundromat operates around 18 facilities in Michigan, including in Livonia, Madison Heights, Oak Park and Dearborn. The team opened a location in 2018 in Taylor, followed by Oak Park and their first Warren Spot on 9 Mile Road. The last location the team debuted was in Westland in 2023.
“Our philosophy is to serve our neighborhoods with the finest amenities available and to transform the drudgery of wash day into a pleasant and social experience for budget-minded customers,” says the description on their website.
The company advertises their state-of-the-art machines, high capacity washers and dryers, and amenities like wifi and a lounge area. Customers who do not want the self-service can drop their laundry off at a location, and the team will wash and fold the clothes for them. The same services are expected to be offered at the new Warren facility.
The laundromat will operate on the west side of Van Dyke Avenue, right in front of Menards. Cottage Inn Pizza is also at this building, as well as a Consumer Cellular store. This area of Warren is mostly commercial, with stores and restaurants on both sides of the road.
