Mancini’s Sleepworld is heading to Davis, with plans to open a new store at 4525 Fermi Place by October. The construction is already underway in a 4,351-square-foot space that was previously a Chase Bank branch, and before that was approved for a Starbucks that never materialized.
The Davis location will be Mancini’s sixth Sacramento-area store in roughly a year, capping a rapid regional expansion that started with four simultaneous openings in Roseville, Rocklin, Citrus Heights, and Folsom last year, followed by a fifth location at 2001 Arden Way near Cal Expo. The brand, which got its start in the Bay Area in 1969, now operates more than 40 stores across Northern California and the Central Valley.
Mancini’s Sleepworld carries a wide range of premium mattress brands and prides itself on a personalized, non-pressured shopping experience. According to the Sacramento Business Journal, the chain has built its reputation on knowledgeable staff who walk customers through options based on their sleep style and budget, rather than pushing whichever product has the highest margin.
