When it opens in the Lower East Side, a restaurant called Casa Fuego will bring modern takes on the flavors of Mexico. According to a sample menu provided to Community Board 3, the menu will include a range of modern Mexican dishes, including fresh tuna tostadas, duck confit tacos, and Chilean sea bass served in a fragrant tomato-saffron broth. The owners are seeking a full liquor license, and the bar will offer both signature cocktails and curated flights of tequila or mezcal. Located at 99 Stanton St., the restaurant takes over a prominent two-level footprint that has table seating for about 150 guests. Casa Fuego indicated plans to lean into the neighborhood’s famous nightlife scene, featuring occasional DJs and live music, according to the CB3 filing. The restaurant will close at 11 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday and remain open until 2 a.m. from Thursday to Saturday.
