Battleground Butcher Bar is preparing to open at 1013 Battleground Ave. in Greensboro, according to the Triad Business Journal. The publication reported that William Womack, project design and construction adviser at Burgess Built, said the restaurant is targeting a late summer opening.
According to the Triad Business Journal, the concept is owned by Taylor Armstrong, a former butcher and back-of-house manager at Kau, and his wife, Jordan Armstrong. In addition to the restaurant, Battleground Butcher Bar will also feature a butcher shop and provisions market. The couple is transforming the former Ready Auto and Ready Gas & Convenience property into a community-focused destination that will combine a full-service restaurant with a curated food retail experience.
The Triad Business Journal reported that the restaurant will seat 40 to 50 guests indoors, with an additional 30 to 40 seats on the outdoor patio. The Armstrongs expect the location to attract visitors from nearby neighborhoods, including Westerwood, Latham Park, Sunset Hills and Greenway Communities, while also benefiting from its connection to downtown Greensboro.
The publication also reported that Battleground Butcher Bar will share the property with Float Dirty Soda and Ice Cream, an old-fashioned ice cream parlor from Emily Baker and Chase Strange, owners of The Daily Grind coffee shop in Burlington.
