Scaddabush Italian Kitchen & Bar, an Italian restaurant chain specializing in scratch-made pastas, pizzas, and fresh mozzarella, is preparing to open new locations in Aurora at 28 First Commerce Drive and in Kanata at 625 Kanata Avenue.
The company’s Aurora location is set to move into the former Swiss Chalet space, which closed in February, while the Kanata restaurant is also under development, according to NewmarketToday. Renovations are underway at the Aurora property, with a banner at the site announcing that the restaurant is “opening soon.” While an exact opening date has yet to be announced for Aurora, the location is expected to open this summer, and the Kanata location is scheduled to open on August 1, 2026.
The Aurora restaurant will be located near Wellington Street East, Leslie Street, and Highway 404, serving residents in Aurora and nearby communities. The Kanata restaurant will be located at 625 Kanata Avenue, adding another location to the brand’s growing presence in Ontario. Customers can expect Scaddabush’s menu of Italian-inspired dishes, including pasta, pizza, fresh mozzarella, salads, sandwiches, and appetizers.
Scaddabush is part of SIR Corp., a Canadian restaurant company that operates several concepts across the country. The brand’s name comes from the Italian slang expression “a little bit of everything,” reflecting its menu of traditional Italian dishes alongside modern interpretations. The company focuses on making many menu items in-house, including pasta, pizza dough, focaccia bread, sauces, and desserts.
The restaurant’s menu features a variety of Italian favorites, including hand-stretched mozzarella made fresh daily, scratch-made pasta, and pizzas prepared with dough that matures for 48 hours before being hand-stretched. Other menu items include Chicken Parmesan, Rigatoni Bolognese, Spaghetti & Meatball, fresh salads, and house-made desserts. Scaddabush also offers gluten-free options, catering services, and beverages, including cocktails and wine.
The company has continued expanding across Ontario, with new restaurants planned in communities including Aurora and Kanata. This will be an excellent landing space for Scaddabush as the brand continues bringing its casual Italian dining concept to new markets. The new locations will provide customers with another option for made-from-scratch Italian dishes in growing communities outside of the Greater Toronto Area.
