Casa East Sac has announced its sudden closure in an Instagram post. The East Sacramento restaurant closed its doors on July 15, 2026. The owners cited ongoing challenges as the reason for closing.

Casa East Sac Bids a Silent Farewell to the Community

The restaurant at 5401 H Street in Sacramento has permanently closed. Casa East Sac owners, Steve and Theodore Gibanov, announced that the restaurant was closing “effective immediately” on July 15.

The restaurant was known for serving American comfort dishes prepared using simple, classic cooking techniques. The owners said the restaurant had been facing many of the same challenges affecting other small businesses, making it increasingly difficult to operate.

They thanked the community for its continued support and said, “Thank you for every meal shared, every celebration hosted, every conversation, every laugh, and every memory made within these walls.”

“To every guest who dined with us, every staff member who poured their heart into this restaurant, our incredible landlords, our trusted vendors, and the amazing East Sacramento community, thank you,” added the team.

Chef Steve honed his culinary skills while working at multiple notable San Francisco restaurants. Meanwhile, Teddy developed his cooking style with family recipes from his mother and grandmother.

Following the closure announcement, several loyal customers expressed their disappointment on social media. Many also shared heartfelt memories in the comments.

A customer wrote an emotional note, “I know more than most the hardship and tireless effort that come before making this type of decision. I loved your pizza and Caesar salads so much.”

“That’s so sad. We had a lot of fun there and were such big fans,” said another.

Even though Casa East Sac has left the Sacramento dining scene, it will be remembered for its comforting American dishes and warm atmosphere.
