Biscuitville Fresh Southern has purchased a commercial property at 1478 N.C. 66 South, Kernersville, a move that could set the stage for a second location in the town. According to the Triad Business Journal, the Greensboro-based breakfast chain acquired the 0.93-acre parcel for $1.62 million in a transaction recorded by the Forsyth County Register of Deeds at the end of June.

The vacant site is located in a commercial corridor just north of Interstate 40, between Dairi-O and Wendy’s. Nearby businesses include Dunkin’, Hampton by Hilton, State Employees’ Credit Union and Holiday Inn Express Kernersville.

Although the purchase has been finalized, the company is not yet confirming its plans for the property. A Biscuitville spokesperson confirmed the acquisition to WhatNow Charlotte but said there were no additional details to share regarding future development.

The acquisition comes as Biscuitville continues to grow its footprint. According to the company’s website, the chain opened a restaurant in Shallotte, North Carolina, earlier this year and expects to open a second location there this summer. Additional restaurants are also planned for Rock Hill, South Carolina, and Southport, North Carolina.

Founded in 1975, Biscuitville is headquartered in Greensboro and is known for its scratch-made biscuits and Southern-inspired breakfast menu. According to the company’s website, the brand operates approximately 85 restaurants across North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.

Kernersville is already home to a Biscuitville restaurant at 921 S. Main Street, and the company operates 26 locations throughout the Triad, including restaurants in Winston-Salem, Clemmons, Greensboro, High Point, Burlington, Graham, Mebane, Lexington, Thomasville, Asheboro, Archdale, Eden and Mount Airy.

WhatNow Charlotte will continue to follow the project and provide updates as more information becomes available.
