SportX is heading to 16 Cornelius Lane in Mooresville, bringing a new mix of pickleball, cornhole and other outdoor activities to the area. According to a recent Mooresville Now Facebook post, the venue is expected to open this fall near Mazeppa Park.
The new SportX will feature 20 pickleball courts and 20 cornhole lanes, along with JellyBall and a GameDay hangout spot. The combination gives the upcoming venue a lineup that goes well beyond traditional court sports.
SportX’s website describes the concept as an outdoor sports and entertainment destination built around activities including pickleball, cornhole, GellyBall and drone racing. The company also promotes the space for tournaments, corporate events, parties and casual outings, with a clubhouse, green space and guest food trucks part of the overall concept.
According to SportX, its goal is to create a place where people can compete, socialize and spend time outdoors, with activities designed for both casual visitors and more competitive players. The company’s website also highlights its focus on community events and gatherings.
The new Cornelius Lane location will add another option for active entertainment in Mooresville, with its larger court lineup and mix of games giving the upcoming venue plenty of room for both competition and casual play.
