Lalibela Ethiopian Restaurant and Bar is planning a location for the University District / Central East Las Vegas submarket. According to a Clark County permit, the new Lalibela Ethiopian Restaurant and Bar eatery is expected to open just a short distance south of the UNLV campus, inside the Camelot Shopping Center at 4972 S Maryland Pkwy, Ste 3-4.
The address sits near the southeast corner of Maryland Parkway and Tropicana Avenue and houses various small businesses, markets, and specialty shops like Camelot Liquors, Easy Days Drive Thru Mini Mart, and Robert’s 5.99 More or Less.
What Now Las Vegas briefly spoke with owner Tsehau Retta about the exciting new restaurant and bar. Retta confirmed the opening and shared that the plan is to open this summer. Unfortunately, Retta was unable to share further information by the time of this publication.
There are a host of eateries under the exact same name throughout the country, including this Lalibela Ethiopian Restaurant and Bar in Boston. No word just yet if the two or any of the locations are related.
A Lalibela Ethiopian Restaurant at 870 Sierra Vista Dr was a long-standing fixture in Las Vegas, but is now permanently closed. It is unclear if this location is also related to the upcoming opening.
With no clear website or social media presence, it’s not really clear what the new Lalibela Ethiopian Restaurant and Bar, set to soon serve the Las Vegas Valley, will offer, but we suspect a variety of authentic Ethiopian dishes.
