A new Zaxby’s is coming to 1726 Alleghany Street in Charlotte, where a recently filed land disturbance permit signals progress on the project. Franchise owner Sam Mahalingam confirmed the new location to WhatNow Charlotte.
“We hope to open this location before year-end and are very excited to bring the flavors of Zaxby’s to the northwest part of Charlotte,” Mahalingam said. “We also look forward to partnering with the community and offering not only jobs but also long-term careers in our growing franchise group.”
The permit calls for site work at the property, representing an early step toward construction of the new restaurant. An opening timeline has not yet been announced.
Founded in Statesboro, Georgia, in 1990, Zaxby’s has grown into one of the nation’s largest quick-service chicken brands. According to the company’s website, the chain operates more than 950 locations across the United States through a combination of company-owned and franchised restaurants.
The menu features Chicken Fingerz, traditional and boneless wings, chicken sandwiches, Zalads, loaded fries, and Texas toast, along with a variety of signature sauces that have become a staple of the brand. According to their website, several locations also offer drive-thru service, online ordering, and catering, serving both individual guests and larger groups.
The Alleghany Street restaurant will further expand Zaxby’s presence in the Charlotte market as the brand continues its growth across North Carolina. Additional permits are expected before construction begins, and an opening date has not yet been shared.
