Connie and Ted’s
After 13 years of service, Connie and Ted’s closed its West Hollywood location. Known for its New England-inspired menu, the restaurant hosted its last dinner on July 1, 2026.
Founded by chef Michael Cimarusti with partners Donato Poto and Crisi Echiverri, the restaurant was a local favorite dining destination. It was named after Cimarusti’s grandparents, Connie and Ted, to honor their legacy. The restaurant menu featured lobster rolls, fresh oysters, clam chowder, and other sustainably sourced seafood.

Shane’s Famous Quesadilla Burgers
Shane’s Famous Quesadilla Burgers officially said goodbye to its Lafayette location after nearly four years of service. The restaurant served its last customers on July 3, 2026.
The restaurant gained attention for replacing traditional burger buns with crispy, toasted quesadillas. It was their signature menu item. The restaurant also offered a full bar with beer, wine, and other beverages.

Cactus Taqueria
Cactus Taqueria permanently closed its original Hollywood location after 34 years. After 34 years of service, the family-owned taco stand offered its final taco on July 12. It became a neighborhood favorite for its late-night tacos, burritos, and other Mexican dishes.
The property was sold and is being redeveloped for Project Angel Food, prompting the closure of the original location. While the flagship Hollywood location is gone, the restaurant remains open in Koreatown.

Nerano
Located in Beverly Hills, Nerano, an Italian staple, served its final dinner to the community on July 25. The restaurant, operated by Carlo and Andy Brandon-Gordon, served the community for 10 years.
The restaurant featured a dining room and bar serving handmade pastas, pizza, seafood, and craft cocktails.

Joplin’s
A barbeque staple in Ojai, Joplin’s also closed its doors permanently after only a year of operation on July 26. It gained popularity because of its rock-and-roll-theme smokehouse vibe and locally sourced ingredients from nearby California farms.
The restaurant, owned by Brittany and Saw Naing, shared the closure announcement on social media. The owners cited rising operating costs, overhead expenses, and other business and economic issues as the reasons for the closure.

Crustacean
One of Beverly Hills’ celebrity-loved restaurants, Crustacean, closed its doors after nearly 30 years of business. Founded in 1997 by the An family, the restaurant served its final meal on July 29.
The restaurant was known for its garlic noodles, roasted crab, and Vietnamese-inspired dishes. The restaurant team cited the sale of the building as the key factor for the closure. The sister restaurants, House of An and the temporary Crustacean pop-up in Santa Monica, will continue to serve the community.
