Founded in 2016 in Winter Park, Foxtail Coffee Co. is a Florida-born cafe “where coffee meets community.” It’s been growing fast since its launch, and it now has roughly 100 locations listed either open or coming soon on its website. As the brand continues to grow in its home state (it also has cafes in states as far-flung as Georgia, Michigan, and Nevada), one of its next openings is planned for Winter Garden, where recently submitted plan review paperwork shows an opening in the works at 7263 Avalon Road, Suite 101.
Behind the new Foxtail is franchisee Rodrigo Basso. Basso heads up a family business of commercial investors.
“I was a Foxtail customer from the beginning,” Basso told What Now on Thursday. “If you’re a coffee lover, you compare different brands, and Foxtail is just a better package. For example, my favorite coffee is a pourover. A lot of places won’t do a single-origin coffee pourover because, even though it’s just coffee and water, it’s more time consuming. But Foxtail would always do it.”
As commercial investors, the family will be making its first move into food service.
“We were lucky enough to own the store, and to explore a region that Foxtail didn’t cover yet.”
Inside, expect to find plenty of seating, plus two murals featuring images of the Brazilian countryside, coffee farms, and overall landscape. There will also be outdoor seating.
Foxtail Coffee serves a wide variety of coffee drinks, ranging from espresso-based classics to the highly popular cold brew. The menu will also feature ice cream by Kelly’s Homemade Ice Cream. Kelly’s flavors have included favorites like Blondie (White chocolate ice cream blended with Golden Oreo® Cookies, Heath bits and white chocolate chips), Cake Batter N’ Sprinkles (Sweet yellow cake batter ice cream layered with rainbow sprinkles), and Banana Pudding (Banana cake batter ice cream with marshmallow cream + Nilla® Wafers).
The new Foxtail is expected to launch by late September.
