A plaza in the suburb is getting a new high-end addition for hair styling and cosmetics.
Yasmin Killinchi, the owner of Social Salon, is building her new location at 31543 13 Mile Road in Farmington Hills. She currently operates her salon in West Bloomfield and recently found the new space. Killinchi told What Now Detroit she does not yet have an opening date.
Killinchi has been working on hair for the last 14 years, and has an immense amount of experience in styling around the country. She has been a lead stylist for brands including Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co. and Gucci.
Currently, Social Salon operates at 6241 Orchard Lake in West Bloomfield. It was opened by Killinchi in 2018, and she first had a salon on Maple Road in the area. After eight years at the current spot in the township, she was seeking expansion in Metro Detroit.
For the new location, Killinchi will offer many of the same services at her current salon and more, including skin and hair care, micro-needling, micro-blading, hair extensions and facial work. She also plans on doing bridal hair styling, and having men’s haircuts available.
“It’s more than just a place for haircuts or styling it’s a Glam Hub where clients experience luxurious services while engaging in meaningful conversations and building relationships,” says the description on the Social Salon website.
The salon is opening at the intersection of Garfield Lake Road, sharing the plaza with concepts like Master Shoemaker, Strandz Salon and Quick Clean dry cleaner. Killinchi’s business will be next to Tooty Fruity, an edible arrangements store. This is close to Glen Oaks Golf Course.
