Born in 1982, “always-open” gas station and fast-food chain Buc-ee’s has been building a cult following for years, and that growth has recently reached what could almost be described as a fever pitch. As Buc-ee’s makes its way down Florida’s East Coast, where it already has locations in St. Augustine and Daytona Beach, another location is in the works a bit further south in Fort Pierce.
The Buc-ee’s, which would open where Indrio Road meets I-95, has been in the works for some time, but after resubmitting plans, a projected opening has been revised to 2028, according to coverage on CBS12.com.
“Plans call for a travel center of more than 73,000 square feet, fuel pumps, electric vehicle charging stations and several outparcels,” the coverage says. “The development received preliminary approval from the St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners in September 2024.”
That’s a long time to wait! But still, the process does appear to be going forward.
The Buc-ee’s food menu features Breakfast Favorites like the Bacon, Ham, & Cheese Croissant, On-the-Go Bites like the Chipotle Club, and Texas Round-Up barbecue choices like the Pulled Pork BBQ Sandwich and Sliced BBQ Brisket.
