The City of Chamblee broke ground on Fish Bolt Park, a new green space along the Chamblee Rail Trail. The project will help the city manage stormwater and improve water quality. City leaders, the design team Kimley-Horn, and construction company Reeves Young attended the groundbreaking ceremony.
Fish Bolt Park to Improve Chamblee’s Stormwater Management
The City of Chamblee held the groundbreaking ceremony for Fish Bolt Park on August 12. The new green space along the Chamblee Rail Trail is a project by the City of Chamblee. It is a $4.6 million project that will provide recreational spaces while helping the city capture and treat stormwater.
Fish Bolt Park is located at the intersection of Chamblee Tucker Road and the Chamblee Rail Trail.
Fish Bolt Park will combine recreation and environmental improvement in one new community space. Once completed, it will give residents a place to enjoy the outdoors. It will also help the city better manage stormwater and protect water quality.

Features of the New Park
Fish Bolt Park will offer several features for residents, including ADA-accessible paths. It will also feature a nature play area, public deck spaces, a mural wall, landscaping, and a water feature.
The park will also function as a constructed wetland. Its design will help capture and treat stormwater runoff while creating a natural environment for native plants and wildlife. The project is part of Chamblee’s efforts to improve its parks and public spaces.
According to a report by Urbanize Atlanta, the future park site will be surrounded by new development. This includes hundreds of new apartments and civic buildings in downtown Chamblee.
Fish Bolt Park will bring new recreational and environmental benefits to Chamblee with its completion in Summer 2027.
