Pasta Supply Co. is opening a third San Francisco location at 919 Cole St. in Cole Valley, with the new restaurant expected to open in October. Chef and owner Anthony Strong announced the expansion in a recent video shared on the company’s Instagram account.
The new location will occupy a roughly 700-square-foot former Peet’s Coffee space. Strong said the smaller footprint will allow Pasta Supply Co. to operate with a limited staff and a counter-service model, with approximately 24 seats for dine-in customers. The restaurant is expected to serve lunch and dinner daily.
According to the company’s video announcement, the Cole Valley opening is being funded through a crowdsourcing campaign. Strong said the campaign is being conducted directly through Pasta Supply Co. rather than a third-party crowdfunding platform. The company is seeking to raise $400,000, with rewards including pasta subscriptions. The campaign offers free pasta for a year for $550 and free pasta for life for $4,000.
The video also states that the company is limiting the number of subscriptions, with 200 available for the one-year option and 100 for the lifetime option. Strong noted that a previous crowdfunding campaign moved quickly and encouraged customers to participate while the subscriptions remain available.
The Cole Valley location will offer about 30 varieties of fresh pasta, along with sauces, olive oil, and other cooking staples. Filled pastas and sauces will be delivered daily from the Mission production facility, while cooking at the new location will focus on boiling pasta and heating sauces.
