The latest fueling station from the company is coming to a more rural part of Southeast Michigan.

From WHMI, a new Kroger fuel center is planned for the northwest corner of M-59 and Old U.S. 23. This will join the grocery store already in the plaza. As the plan has to go through final approval at the Hartland Township Board of Trustees level, there is no opening date estimate as of now.

Kroger operates over 1,000 gas stations in 16 states, with 60 in Michigan alone. Other company-owned fuel centers are nearby in Brighton and Milford, and they are looking for more areas in this part of the state for development. The stations also feature a convenience store that sells drinks and snacks.

The gas station will join the corner which also is home to a Target, CVS Pharmacy, Huntington Bank and a Hallmark. The area is close to Hartland Glen Golf Course, and about 10 miles north of Brighton.

From conceptual drawings, the gas station and store is going in just west of the Kroger and parking lot. Construction is expected to start following the township’s approval, and more updates on the opening date will follow in the near future.
