An upscale restaurant and cocktail bar bids farewell to the San Diego community after over a decade of service. The elegant Mediterranean restaurant Madison on Park will officially close its doors next month. The restaurant team plans to debut a new dining concept in the same space soon.
Park Blvd’s Madison Says Goodbye
Madison, located at 4622 Park Boulevard in San Diego, California, is a chic Mediterranean-style restaurant bar concept. The restaurant offers a Mediterranean-inspired menu alongside cocktails. Madison has also hosted guests for special occasions and date nights.
Situated in the heart of the University Heights neighborhood, Madison will shut down its operations on September 6. The restaurant team shared the closure announcement on social media. They wrote a very quirky message, “Even Madison has to go home eventually. The beauty queen is hanging up her heels, passing the sash and retiring from the runway.”
Reflecting on its journey, the team thanked its customers and community members who came and celebrated with the restaurant over the 10+ years of service.
The restaurant also extended a thank-you note to the staff. The team also encouraged the community to visit and noted, “So come have one last supper. Order the martini. Sit in your favorite booth.”

New Concept Planned for Madison’s Space
While Madison on Park is closing, it is not a permanent goodbye to the community. In the same post, the team said a new concept is planned for the space beginning September 7. The team hinted that a sister restaurant might open on Park Boulevard.
“Another sibling has plans for this little section of Park Blvd. But she’s not ready to gossip about that just yet,” the team wrote.
Additionally, Madison is also expanding to open an all-day diner called Dear Josie’s in Hillcrest.
“For her next act, Madison is heading to Hillcrest to help her great aunt @dearjosies get ready for her debut next month,” announced the team.
