City Barbeque is joining the Smyrna community with a new joint opening Aug. 24 at 110 W. Sam Ridley Pkwy.

After receiving such a warm welcome in nearby Murfreesboro, the team is looking forward to serving guests throughout Rutherford County with authentic barbeque smoked on site daily by pitmasters with the kind of hospitality that makes everyone feel at home.

Located in Sewart’s Landing near Wawa and Jonathan’s Grille, the new joint features a patio and a drive-thru.

Opening day festivities begin with a Rib’n & Ribbon Cutting alongside the Rutherford County Chamber at 10 a.m. The first 50 guests through the door will receive a gift bag featuring a City Barbeque T-shirt, a bottle of signature sauce and gift cards ranging from $5 to $50.

“Great barbeque has always been about bringing people together,” said Mike Muldoon of City Barbeque in a statement. “We’re excited to become part of the Smyrna community and earn our place around local dinner tables, tailgates, celebrations and everyday gatherings. We can’t wait to welcome our neighbors, get to know them and serve up our craft.”

City Barbeque’s smokers never turn off. Since 1999, City Barbeque has done things the hard way because it’s the right way. Every morning, the pitmasters tend meats smoked on site over hickory wood while teams prepare sides and desserts fresh in every joint. It’s a commitment to craft that hasn’t changed since the beginning.

Guests can enjoy brisket, hand-rubbed St. Louis ribs, Carolina pulled pork, smoked turkey and chicken, along with favorites like mac and cheese, baked beans, collard greens, fried okra and coleslaw.

The new Smyrna joint will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, with extended hours until 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
