Angry Dumplings Tea is expanding to Farragut, where owners Jason and Vanessa Chau are preparing to open a second location at 10943 Kingston Pike, Farragut. The restaurant will take over the former Status Dough space, according to Knoxvillephoto on Instagram.
The expansion comes as Angry Dumplings Tea continues to grow from its original location at 1119 Sevier Avenue in South Knoxville. Knoxvillephoto reports that the restaurant is now producing approximately 8,000 dumplings each week, with business increasing by nearly 10% each month.
Jason Chau had been looking for a second building even before the Farragut space became available, according to Knoxvillephoto. The new location will bring the family-owned concept farther west and make its menu more accessible to customers in the Farragut area.
The former Status Dough space still contains remnants of the previous business, including a chalkboard doughnut menu, tables, chairs, and a cappuccino machine. Those fixtures will eventually make way for the next chapter of the space as Angry Dumplings Tea prepares for its arrival.
Angry Dumplings Tea describes itself as a family-owned Asian restaurant specializing in its signature dumplings, handmade noodles and boba teas. The Sevier Avenue restaurant is currently the concept’s only location, making the Farragut project its first expansion.
An exact opening date for the Farragut location has not yet been announced.
