Hollister Co. is set to return to SouthPark Mall at 4400 Sharon Road in Charlotte, with a new 6,400-square-foot store planned for the former Abercrombie & Fitch space. Charlotte Business Journal reported that a Mecklenburg County building permit lists nearly $653,000 in construction costs for the project.
The new Hollister will occupy the space as Abercrombie & Fitch prepares to relocate within the mall. According to Charlotte Business Journal, the two brands are both part of Abercrombie & Fitch Co., and Tom Rectenwald Construction Inc. is listed as the general contractor for the work. The publication also reported that Hollister currently has stores at Northlake Mall and Concord Mills.
According to Hollister’s website, the brand offers apparel and accessories for women and men, with its current assortment including tops, bottoms, dresses, swimwear, activewear, outerwear, shoes and accessories. Denim remains a significant part of the lineup, with women’s and men’s jeans available in styles ranging from baggy and bootcut to straight and relaxed fits.
Hollister’s parent company, Abercrombie & Fitch Co., describes the brand as part of its portfolio of specialty retail brands. The company’s website says Hollister launched in 2000 around a laid-back California lifestyle and has since expanded into a broader apparel and lifestyle offering.
The SouthPark opening will add another Hollister location to the Charlotte area as the mall undergoes several tenant changes. Charlotte Business Journal reported Abercrombie & Fitch and Golden Goose are undertaking their own store projects at SouthPark.
A specific opening date for the new Hollister has not been announced.
