The Shell-branded gas station at 7741 Auburn Blvd in Citrus Heights has new ownership. State filings show Hasco Stations LLC, managed by CEO Salaheddin Hassan filed for a new liquor license on August 19, transferring from the previous operator, Tooley Oil, run by Michael Thomas Tooley since 2022.
Hasco Stations, commonly known as H&S, is an Orange County based fuel and convenience store operator that has grown quickly since forming in December 2023. The company made headlines earlier this year after acquiring the historic Andretti Petroleum Group’s roughly 170 gas stations and convenience stores across Northern California, Oregon and Washington, a portfolio that had been built by Formula 1 champion Mario Andretti starting in 1997. That deal included a well known Shell station in Carmel, CA, where Hasco’s later attempt to rebrand it as a Chevron drew pushback from local preservationists. Salaheddin Hassan operates a wide network of related entities under names like H&S Energy Group, Hasco Distribution and H&S Stations.
The station has operated under the Tooley name for years, with the property carrying a reported 20-plus year history at the same Auburn Boulevard location. It’s a Shell branded stop with a convenience store, pay at pump service, restrooms, air pump and lottery sales, sitting along a stretch of Auburn Boulevard shared with several other gas stations, including a nearby ConocoPhillips and Valero.
