The Orlando Business Journal reported back in March that ALDI, the German-born “world’s first discount grocery store,” was planning to rebrand seven Winn-Dixie stores as ALDI stores.

“The locations span Brevard, Lake, Volusia and Seminole counties,” the coverage said. “Three sites will open by summer’s end.”

One such store undergoing the transition, and which was already mentioned in the Business Journal coverage, is in the works at 951 W State Rd 434 in Longwood, at the 434 Center shopping mall.

“For over 40 years, we have stuck to the same guiding principle: great quality should come with everyday low prices,” says the ALDI website. “We keep a close eye on the ingredients and materials that go into all our products to ensure they meet the highest standards.”

That high-quality-at-low-prices approach has made ALDI a smash hit in locales around the country. And so, growth is continuing at a rapid pace.

Details on the rollout of the Longwood location are not yet available. It’s not yet listed on the ALDI Grand Openings Page, which currently lists several stores that have recently launched, including new ALDIs in Eustis and in Tarpon Springs.

Opening at 434 Center, ALDI will join local businesses like Paddy’s Pub Longwood and Golden Thai Restaurant.

ALDI is having a big year in the Sunshine State! Stay tuned for more specifics about the new store rollouts in Central Florida.
