Haggo’s Organic Taco is preparing to open a new restaurant at 1402 S El Camino Real in San Clemente, expanding the Southern California concept beyond its existing Encinitas location. The new restaurant will bring Haggo’s focus on organic and scratch-made Mexican-inspired food to San Clemente.

According to the company’s website, the menu includes tacos, burritos, bowls, salads, nachos, churros and other dishes. The restaurant describes its food program as 100% seed-oil free and highlights grass-fed beef, wild-caught fish, organic produce and free-range organic chicken. Vegan and vegetarian options are also available.

One of the most popular offerings is the Cochinita Pibil Taco: Slow-braised citrus pork, crisp cabbage slaw, house guacamole, pickled red onion, and fresh cilantro, all wrapped in an organic corn tortilla.

Haggo’s current restaurant operates at 1302 N. Coast Highway 101 in Encinitas. The concept was founded by chef James Haggo Haggard and later acquired by Courtney Lattimer Andruss and Willie Andruss, who have continued its emphasis on organic ingredients and scratch cooking.
