Morning is breaking for an exciting new addition to the Cooper-Young dining scene. Construction is underway on Big Bad Breakfast, bringing locals even closer to the brand’s delicious daytime dining.
Big Bad Breakfast has launched a social media page for its Cooper-Young location, coming to 2149 Young Avenue. Posts on the Facebook page have stoked area enthusiasm. An August 11 post featuring pictures of the work being done on the space states: “Big Bad Breakfast is coming soon, and we are BEYOND thrilled to bring this wonderful community our scratch-made breakfast, brunch, lunch, catering, and full bar!”
A commercial alteration permit filed with the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development sheds even further light on Big Bad Breakfast’s next home, showing that it will be occupying a 5,000 square foot space with an occupant load of 174.
Another positive indicator of the restaurant’s upcoming opening: the establishment was issued its sign permit on August 18.
Photos show that while work remains to be done, progress is being made rapidly on the storefront, a sentiment echoed by the post, saying: “Get ready, Cooper-Young. Your new breakfast spot, weekday lunch break go-to, and Sunday brunch destination is almost here!”
Big Bad Breakfast is a Southern favorite, with locations in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, North Carolina, Mississippi, South Carolina, and-of course-Tennessee. The upcoming location’s Facebook page assures future regulars that the new storefront will both be entirely Big Bad Breakfast and uniquely Cooper-Young, saying: “You’ll find the same scratch-made Southern food and warm hospitality BBB is known for, but Cooper-Young will very much be your neighborhood BBB. We’re excited to add a little more breakfast, a lot more biscuits, and plenty of good mornings to Cooper-Young. Stay tuned, Memphis. We’ll be firing up the griddle soon!”
Excited Cooper-Young locals should follow Big Bag Breakfast’s social media for all the opening updates fit to print.
