A Philadelphia yoga studio is preparing to open its second location this fall.

Muse Yoga & Fitness, owned by Maggie Greene, will open at 2737 W. Girard Ave. in Brewerytown, joining its Francisville flagship.

“Brewerytown is a great neighborhood. It’s not too far from our current neighborhood. We knew it would be accessible to a lot of our members and clients who live in the area, while also being able to invite the new community to our location,” studio manager Haley Machir told Whatnow Philadelphia.

The new location will feature a different layout than the Francisville space. Instead of separate upstairs and downstairs studios, the Brewerytown location will feature one large studio with a lobby area.

“There will only ever be one class going on at a time, and we’ll be able to fit more people into the room than we have in previous classes at our first location. We’re going to offer different styles of yoga, hot yoga, mat-based Pilates. We still have the fitness element; it just won’t be the exact heavy lifting style of small group classes,” she said.

For first-timers, Machir recommends trying the new-client special, which includes a 30-day unlimited class trial at a discounted price. There is also a VIP trial, which includes a private session with a personal trainer or yoga instructor.

“They can try every instructor, every class style and see what really speaks to them because you really don’t know until you try—if you like slow flow better or if you like heat or non-heated. We have classes that are welcome to everyone, and the instructors are really great with modifying and speaking with first-timers,” she said.

Muse Yoga & Fitness also hosts free events for first-timers throughout the year, with its next event coming up in September and focused on Pilates.

Both new-client specials and regular memberships are transferable between locations, giving members more options for class styles and times.

Machir is eager to create a community-focused atmosphere in Brewerytown.

“We’ve built such an amazing community of people here in Francisville. We’ve seen a lot of friendships blossom at the studio, which is my favorite part—seeing people make plans outside of class or come in together. We all like cheering each other on,” she said.

An official opening date has not yet been announced; however, the studio may host a “secret pop-up” before the grand opening. Visit the Muse Yoga & Fitness website and follow along on Instagram and Facebook for the latest updates.
