The gas station known as Romey’s Gas at 3 Main St in Woodland, CA, is changing hands. State filings show A&A Gas Inc, led by Ghulam Ali and Abdul Khamosh, filed for a new liquor license on September 3, transferring it from Sahota Enterprises Inc, run by Devinder Singh Sahota since 2013. The station will operate going forward under the name A&A Gas & Food Mart.
The rebrand suggests the new ownership is shifting the business toward a combined fuel and grocery model rather than the more traditional gas-station-plus-convenience-store setup Romey’s has run for years. A “gas and food mart” style operation typically leans more heavily into grocery staples, fresh snacks, drinks, and everyday essentials alongside the pumps, positioning itself closer to a small neighborhood market than a standard corner store stocked mainly with cigarettes, lottery tickets, and packaged snacks. That kind of format has grown more common at independent stations looking to draw repeat, everyday shoppers, rather than just drivers stopping for gas.
The corner station sits along Main Street near Woodland’s downtown core, not far from Yolo County Fairgrounds and Woodland Memorial Hospital. The property has operated as a fuel and convenience stop under Sahota’s ownership for well over a decade.
