Sandbox VR has filed with the city of Roseville for a roughly 4,655-square-foot arcade at 1151 Galleria Blvd, Suite 102, inside Westfield Galleria at Roseville, marking the company’s second Sacramento-area location. Franchise owner Paramveer Thind confirmed to What Now Sacramento that the lease has just been signed, with the team targeting a winter, around December opening, though he cautioned that timeline is still early and subject to change.
The concept is built around group-based virtual reality experiences, using motion tracking suits and headsets to let players move freely through fully immersive game scenarios rather than staying seated or stationary. The company has grown to more than 30 locations across the country and internationally since its founding. Sandbox VR’s existing Sacramento arcade opened last year inside Downtown Commons at 405 K St, Suite 260.
The Galleria, the largest shopping center in the Sacramento region, has been in the middle of a broader renovation push called The Trails at Roseville, reworking its promenade area with new restaurants like Doppio Zero and King’s Fish House, along with furniture retailers Arhaus and Design Within Reach, according to the Sacramento Business Journal. Other recent additions to the mall include 7th Avenue, Fioboc, Blue Bottle Coffee, a reopened Urban Outfitters and a reopened Lush Cosmetics.
