Senfuku is located at 380 W. 6th Street in Downtown San Pedro. It was established in 1974 and has been operated by Yoshimitsu and Helen Kikuchi since 1982. The name Senfuku loosely translates to “fan of happiness.” The name connects to the fan on the restaurant’s facade, symbolizing good luck.
The restaurant announced its upcoming closure on social media. The post read, “After 45 wonderful years, we find ourselves at a moment we never thought would come — saying goodbye to Senfuku Restaurant and to the community that has been such a meaningful part of our lives.”
The news of Senfuku’s upcoming closure comes after the owners decided that it was time for them to retire. The owners thanked their family, community, and staff for their years of support. The post continues, “To our family, our employees, our friends, and every customer who supported us, encouraged us, and kept coming back year after year — thank you.
