PopUp Bagels is preparing to open a new location at The Commons at Calabasas, where construction is already underway. The shop will add another outpost for the bagel brand in the Los Angeles area.

PopUp Bagels is known for serving bagels hot and whole, with customers encouraged to “Grip, Rip and Dip” pieces into cream cheese spreads rather than ordering traditional bagel sandwiches. The menu features several bagel varieties and a selection of classic and rotating specialty schmears.

The new shop will be located at 4799 Commons Way, within The Commons at Calabasas. The Calabasas opening is part of PopUp Bagels’ broader Southern California expansion, led by franchisee group Sweetzer Capital.

In 2025, What Now reported that Sweetzer Capital had signed an agreement to develop 25 PopUp Bagels locations across Los Angeles and Orange counties.

In an email with What Now Los Angeles, the company confirmed that construction is well underway, though an opening date has not yet been announced.

What Now has previously covered PopUp Bagels’ expansion in Los Angeles. The brand’s Brentwood location opened at 11710 San Vicente Boulevard in December 2025. In June 2026, What Now also reported plans for a Studio City location at 12184 Ventura Boulevard. That shop opened in August, becoming the brand’s second location in the Los Angeles area.
