A Malibu pizza restaurant known for its long-fermented sourdough and focus on ingredients is expanding to Agoura Hills. According to local reports from Conejo Valley, Papa Razzi’s Pizza plans to open at 5649 Kanan Road in Agoura Meadows Shopping Center, the former home of Parma’s Pizza.
Papa Razzi’s specializes in New York-style pizza made with long-fermented sourdough, a process that takes longer than conventional dough preparation. The owners say their approach emphasizes flavor, texture and how customers feel after eating.
What Now Los Angeles spoke with co-owners Tamar Asayag and Oren Zroya, who confirmed that they are targeting an opening in December 2026.
The owners said they chose Agoura Meadows because of its mix of local businesses, which reflects the environment around their original Malibu restaurant.
“It’s really a great plaza. There’s a lot of great local small businesses around us, and we always like to be surrounded by good local businesses, as we are in our first location in Malibu,” they said. The shopping center is home to neighborhood businesses including Latigo Kid, Italia Deli, Cronies and a Vons.
The restaurant’s focus on ingredients is another defining part of its concept. Papa Razzi’s cooks without seed oils, a choice that reflects the brand’s approach to food.
“We believe in feel-good food,” the owners said. “No seed oils, and making sure people really feel great after eating our pizza. That’s really what we want people to know.”
The original location at 29169 Heathercliff Road in Malibu serves customers from the surrounding area, including Calabasas. The Agoura Hills restaurant will bring the same menu and philosophy to the Conejo Valley.
While Tamar and Oren are open to future expansion, their immediate priority is getting the Agoura Hills restaurant up and running. “We’re very focused on opening Agoura first, and then we’ll go from there,” they told What Now Los Angeles.
