Zio Al’s Pizza & Pasta is continuing to enlarge its footprint across the Greater Houston region. According to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation permit, the new Zio Al’s Pizza and Pasta is planned to open in the Houston Heights at 250 W 19th St, Suite E.
Sitting at the corner of 19th Street and Rutland Street in the Houston Heights neighborhood, the retail building features a mix of boutique retail and restaurant spaces in the historic 19th Street shopping district.
The permit for the new Zio Al’s Pizza and Pasta shows that construction started on the new pizzeria back in July and was slated to be completed by the end of January 2027.
“Renovation of a tenant lease space into a pizza and pasta takeout-only restaurant,” the permit for the new 1,150-square-foot Zio Al’s Pizza and Pasta reads.
But the team behind the brand shares that the new Zio Al’s should open much sooner.
“We are now looking at an opening around mid-November for this location in the Heights,” Amanda Rechdan, a member of the construction project management team, said to What Now Houston via email.
Zio Al’s Pizza and Pasta was founded in Dallas-Fort Worth in 2010. Since its inception, the brand has blossomed into a dozen locations. There are now 13 Zio Al’s Pizza and Pasta locations serving the Lone Star State, with one open location in the Greater Houston area in Katy, and several more under development.
“When the craving hits at midnight, Zio Al’s has you covered, with 12 locations spread across the DFW Metroplex, we’re always close by and always open late,” the Zio Al’s Pizza and Pasta website reads.
“Hot pizza, fresh pasta, and crispy wings made to order, because the best meals don’t always happen before 9 PM.”
Zio Al’s Pizza and Pasta is known for its late-night hours (staying open daily until 3 AM) and scratch-made Italian comfort food, including specialty pizzas, hearty pastas, Philly cheesesteaks, and wings.
Be sure to check it out for yourself at the new pizzeria when Zio Al’s Pizza & Pasta opens in the Houston Heights at 250 W 19th St, Suite E, later this year.
