Three new concepts are coming to  in downtown , taking over the former Alice in Appalachia space. Harold’s Bar, Bertie Rose, and Royal Spud are being developed by Sam Norman, according to a September Instagram post from Knoxville Photo. The post says Harold’s is expected to open this fall, alongside Bertie Rose and Royal Spud. The former Alice in Appalachia address is listed as 18-20 Market Square, Knoxville, TN 37902.

Harold’s Bar will be a classic American bar concept. Knoxville Photo describes the business as Norman’s first of the three concepts and notes his background in the technology industry before moving into hospitality. The new bar will occupy the Market Square storefront and is expected to open this fall.

Bertie Rose will bring a modern Southern breakfast and lunch concept to the downtown address. The daytime restaurant will add another breakfast-focused option to Market Square, an area already known for its concentration of restaurants, cafes and bars.

The third concept, Royal Spud, will operate as a walk-up Dutch fry shop. According to Knoxville Photo, the three concepts will share the Market Square location, creating three distinct food and beverage offerings within the same storefront.

The previous business operated at the Market Square address as a cocktail bar and retail destination.

With all three concepts coming from the same owner, the project will bring a new combination of bar, breakfast and quick-service dining to one of downtown Knoxville’s busiest commercial districts.
