Roka Akor plans to open its second Arizona restaurant in Gilbert, according to AZ Big Media. A company representative told What Now Phoenix that the team is targeting a late spring or early summer 2027 opening.
The Gilbert restaurant will become Roka Akor’s sixth location in the United States. The brand currently operates its Arizona flagship at 7299 N. Scottsdale Road, along with one restaurant in San Francisco and three in the Chicago area.
Roka Akor serves contemporary Japanese cuisine. Its open robata grill prepares Japanese Wagyu, seafood, and vegetables. The menu also includes sushi, sashimi, nigiri, and shareable dishes.
The bar serves cocktails, wine, sake, bourbon, Scotch, and Japanese whisky. Each Roka Akor restaurant also has space for private dinners and events.
The Roka concept originated in London before the late Dr. John N. Kapoor brought the brand to Scottsdale. His family now oversees Roka Akor through JNK Concepts, whose portfolio also includes Marigold Maison.
