La Popular Cocina Mexicana plans to open its first Arizona restaurant at Chandler Fashion Center in fall 2027, according to the shopping center’s website.
The restaurant will be part of the mall’s new outdoor dining district at 3111 W. Chandler Blvd. An exact suite and opening date have not been announced.
La Popular originated in Mexico City and is part of Grupo Carolo, led by CEO Eduardo Gómez. The company brought La Popular to the United States through a partnership with Eureka! Restaurant Group. The first U.S. restaurant opened in Roseville, California, in 2022.
The brand currently operates five California restaurants in Claremont, Hollywood, Porter Ranch, Redlands, and Roseville, along with one location in Austin, Texas. The Chandler restaurant will be the brand’s first location in Arizona.
La Popular’s menu includes seafood ceviche, carnitas tacos, Baja shrimp tacos, enchiladas, quesabirria, carne asada, fajitas, and chicken mole poblano, among other options.
La Popular is one of several restaurants announced as part of Chandler Fashion Center’s redevelopment. Din Tai Fung and Wagyu House are also expected to open in 2027.
