Two for Joy Cafe is preparing to open in the last week of October at Chandler Fashion Center, located at 3111 W. Chandler Blvd. in Chandler.
“Two for Joy is far more than a coffee shop—it is a modern café built around beautiful food, thoughtful drinks, connection, and everyday joy,” founder Sejal Chaturvedi told What Now Phoenix.
The menu will offer artisan yogurt bowls layered with fruit, granola, honey, pistachios, and coconut. Yogurt soft serve will come in flavors such as rose-pistachio, mango, vanilla bean, and chocolate truffle, with rotating creations inspired by South Asian sweets, including jalebi.
“I wanted to create something elevated and curated, but still warm, welcoming, and easy to enjoy,” she said.
Savory options will include samosas and flaky puffs filled with paneer, chicken, or egg. Alongside chai, the drink menu will include cold coffee, matcha, espresso drinks, and yogurt-based shakes.
“I want the masala chai to fill the air with warmth before it even reaches the table, and the cold coffee to feel rich, familiar, and comforting,” Chaturvedi said.
The saying behind the café’s name has been part of her family’s life for years. Whenever her husband sees two birds together, he says “two for joy,” a line from the rhyme “One for sorrow, two for joy.” Her son’s name also means joy.
“When I started imagining this next chapter, Two for Joy did not feel like a business name I created. It felt like a story our family had already been living for years. I also love what two birds represent to me—companionship, connection, and shared happiness,” she said.
Chaturvedi spent more than 25 years in the corporate world and founded Mango Bliss Dessert Bar in Prescott. Running Mango Bliss taught her about the practical demands of a food business, she said, and about what makes someone want to return.
“One of the biggest lessons I learned is that beautiful food may bring someone through the door, but the way a place makes them feel is what brings them back,” she said.
She also founded NAARI, the Network of Ambitious and Resilient Indian Women, to bring women together through mentorship, support, and friendship.
“Building NAARI reinforced just how much I love creating spaces where people feel welcomed, connected, and like they truly belong,” she said.
The café will have seating within its approximately 767-square-foot space.
“I actually love that it is a smaller café because it gives us the opportunity to be thoughtful with every detail,” she said.
The late-October target still depends on construction, equipment deliveries, inspections, and final approvals. Chaturvedi plans a soft opening before a grand-opening event, with dates to be announced.
“More than anything, I hope Two for Joy becomes part of people’s little rituals—the place you visit with your daughter after shopping, meet your best friend for chai, bring your kids for a treat, or sit by yourself for twenty quiet minutes with something delicious,” Chaturvedi said.
