The Old English Tea Shoppe and Cafe in San Antonio has announced its closure on social media. The cafe is closing because the owners have decided to return to the United Kingdom.

Sandra and Peter Marley founded The Old English Tea Shoppe & Cafe in San Antonio. The family-run cafe serves British dishes, including full English breakfast, afternoon tea, and Sunday roast. The cafe space includes a modern yet traditional and clean setup with a few touches of British culture.
A San Antonio Restaurants Facebook group shared the closure announcement on September 23. The post stated that The Old English Tea Shoppe & Cafe, located at 20122 Stone Oak Pkwy #105 in San Antonio, will shut its operations on October 4.
The owners said, “After much consideration, Sandra and Peter (owners) have made the difficult decision to return to the UK due to circumstances beyond their control.”
In the Facebook statement, the restaurant mentioned that it was an honor for them to serve the community. The post read, “We will forever be grateful for the friendships, memories, laughter, and wonderful moments we have shared.”

According to a CultureMap news report, the cafe was founded in 2023 in the former space of Savor Bistro.
The social media closure announcement drew a lot of attention from the community and customers of the cafe. One of the customers wrote, “So disappointed to hear this! Thank you for the great meals and celebrations.”
Another customer shared a cherished memory and said, “This is sad news. My friends took me here for my birthday, and it was such a lovely afternoon. Wishing Sandra and Peter all the best.”
The restaurant also thanked the community for their support and encouraged them to visit the cafe before its permanent closure. “Please come and see us before we close our doors for the final time,” said the restaurant.
