Savvy Sliders Expanding in Illinois, Bringing Location to Joliet

Following Michigan, the company is seeking another state to set up shop.

A burger company is working hard to open around the Prairie State.

Savvy Sliders is continuing Midwest growth this year, with a new location coming to 16301 Boulevard Place Unit 101. This is a recent proposal to Joliet’s City Council, and the project was just approved for a drive thru. An opening date is yet to be determined.

The burger chain is currently owned by Happy Asker, who also owns Michigan-based BurgerFi and Fatboy’s Pizza. He has opened Savvy Sliders locations all around Metro Detroit, When contacted, Asker was not available for comment.

Signature sandwiches on the menu include the Original Savvy with grilled onion and pickles, and the Savvy Classic with pickles, lettuce and mayo. Friend chicken sandwiches, English cod and spicy falafel sandwiches are also options available. Sides include onion rings, cheese curds and fries, with soft drinks and custard shakes prepared as well.

The burger spot is coming to the development on the north side of Route 30, joining Olive Garden and a LongHorn Steakhouse. Other chains at this location include Panda Express and Auntie Anne’s.

What Now Chicago is awaiting comment from the Savvy Sliders team on the new location.
