The award-winning barbecue spot has a new location in store.
Q BBQ has become a popular option in the suburbs, and is coming to another one at 158 N York Street in Elmhurst. This will be their fourth location, at the former CarmieCakes space downtown. Director of Operations Kellie Sipich told What Now Chicago the opening date is looking like sometime in March 2027.
The barbecue company first started in LaGrange in 2009, and has since expanded to Naperville and Oak Park. It was founded by Michael LaPidus, and the restaurant had received a Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand designation. The team is bringing many of the same smoked meats to Elmhurst now.
The fast-casual spot serves a variety of pulled pork, pulled chicken, brisket and turkey breast options. Their Papa Q Platter is popular, which consists of sausage link, four wings, ribs, baked beans, mac and cheese and cole slaw, joined by four hush puppies. The full menu is available on their website.
Q BBQ is coming to the southwest intersection of W 2nd Street, next to Starbucks. Bonita Bowls is also at the building, and this is close to Classic Cinemas York Theatre. The Elmhurst Metra stop is a couple blocks south of the storefront.
Right now, the team is in the early stages of building out the space, and more information will be released soon.
